Minecraft.net down?
Mojang employees have currently tweeted that their is a problem with Minecraft.net. Basically the error appears something like: Can't connect to minecraft.net and/or saying its "not downloaded" this has caused hassle from a bunch of players unable to get their Minecraft working.
Leonard Axelsson developer at Mojang, co-founder of SweGUG, has tweeted "Still working on logins, will get it working asap"
It is unknown how long the log-in-problem will remain.
Note - This is not a new problem and the game should be up and running soon
Update - Minecraft appears to be working again now :)

0x10c voice-over backstory
Want to get pumped to play 0x10c when its released? This voice-over may be just the ticket.
Notch 'no plans to repeat Minecraft success"
Notch has recently revealed that he plans to focus on "small niche games" following the success of his sandbox adventure game,
Minecraft. Acknowledging the recent success of the console edition of Minecraft, which already sold over 1 million copies, he said it is unlikely he will develop another title as popular as Minecraft.
"In all seriousness, though," he said, "the massive success of XBLA Minecraft has made me decide to focus on small niche games now."
"I don't mean 'small' as in short projects, as 0x10c is a massive one. I mean ones with potentially few players." 0x10c is still early in development, however while no release date is currently scheduled it will be released early to fans as it develops, similarly to Minecraft.
0x10c will take place in a parallel universe where the space race never ended, and features random encounters, space battles, and both single and multiplayer. The title will also feature a connected economy in a similar way to Diablo 3, he states. "The hyperverse in 0x10c is based on similar ideas. 0x10c will still allow offline, though."

Minecraft Xbox 360 update revealed
4J Studios, co-developer of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, has stated what they hope to bring to the game in their next update, giving eager Minecrafters a small look at what they have in store for them in the near future.
Still lightyears behind the PC version of the game, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition players have yet to fully grasp the whole experience that is only available on the PC. Luckily for them, major updates are in development as we speak, as 4J Studios has recently Tweeted:
"We’re aiming to update to the major PC releases – first one will be the equivalent of the PC Beta 1.7.3 version."The current version of Minecraft 360 is set on the PC Version Beta 1.6.6. This was the update just before pistons and shears were added to the game. If what they say will be the next update, the game should include the following:
- Pistons
- Shears (used to pick up leaf blocks and shear sheep wool)
- Sheep will only drop wool from being killed while unsheared, no longer from being punched
- Fixed clay generation
- Flint and steel/redstone will be a required to ignite TNT
- The ability to stack fences
- New textures for Brick and Cobblestone blocks
- Redstone wire now will connect to a repeater
Minecraft Xbox edition reaches 1 million copies
"In less than one week on the market, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has sold more than 1,000,000 units globally" (1)
Update; Microsoft have revealed they will not be giving refunds for those who are unable to do the multiplayer due to not having high-definition television sets

Minecraft Xbox 360 review
Well, Minecraft for the Xbox has now been released, so lets go over a few things :)
Gameplay
The Xbox 360 edition is currently based on an earlier version of the PC edition (Beta 1.6.6), and therefore lacks some items and features, such as sprinting.
For the most part the Xbox 360 edition of the game is identical to the PC edition, but has several notable differences and features:
The Xbox 360 controller controls:
"A" to jump/place item. "B" to drop/toss item. Right trigger to mine/destroy blocks; attack; toggle switches/doors. Left trigger to place/use block/item. Left/right bumper to change group of craftable items. "X" to open up the crafting menu and show description of highlighted item. "Y" to open up the inventory. Analog sticks to look/move/change selected item. Analog stick press down to sneak/walk.
May have problems with Split-screen

For the most part the Xbox 360 edition of the game is identical to the PC edition, but has several notable differences and features:
- The player can optionally make use of Xbox Kinect functionality to assist in their gameplay, although Kinect functionality was not available at launch.
- The Xbox 360 edition doesn't make use of the standard crafting interface as in the original version, but still has similarities to the PC's 2x2 and 3x3 crafting grids. The interface doesn't require the Player to place items in the correct place in a crafting menu, but simply shows the blocks required to craft the selected item, and crafts it if the Player has enough blocks.
- There are 8 default skin types, all of which appear to have Steve's face, but wearing different outfits.
- The game features split-screen functionality, however an HDTV with a Component or HDMI cable required for Split-Screen play. Up to 4 players can play in split screen*, as well as the possibility to play 8-person online multiplayer game modes in split-screen.
- Mods, Texture Packs and extra player skins will be available much later.
- The Xbox 360 edition includes a tutorial mode not included in the PC version of the game. This tutorial leads the player through the basics of mining and placing blocks, crafting, as well as building their first house to survive the night.
- You cannot change a world's difficulty mid-game. You can change it when you select the world for play.
- You always begin a new world with a map.
- Unlike the PC version, each world in the Xbox 360 Edition is currently limited to 1024 by 1024 blocks. This is approximately the size of an in-game map. It is expected, but not known if the world size will be increased along with the updates that will bring the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft up to date with the PC version.
- You can not walk through Sugar Cane.

May have problems with Split-screen
Minecraft Split-screen problem
"Split-screen multiplayer in the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft requires an HDTV connection, but the game's description on the Xbox Live Marketplace website fails to note this necessity.
Minecraft's description on XBLA does list "HDTV 720p" under the "Local Capabilities" details, but that generally is taken to mean the title will support up to HD 720p, and not as a requirement. In-game, a screen prompts players to "play the game in High Definition mode" for split-screen multiplayer.
Notch wasn't aware that local multiplayer wouldn't work with standard-definition TVs, he tweeted and apologized to a fan today. Port developer 4J Studios has justified the HD requirement on Twitter: 'The inventory and crafting just didn't work in splitscreen Standard Definition - it was too small to make out.'"
For those requesting refunds, you are unlikely to receive them after this statement from Microsoft "in game prompts alert players of the HD requirements for split-screen multiplayer."
Update - Microsoft are now offering refunds

Update from me :)
By now you are all probably wondering why I have not updated this blog in so long. I would like to tell you why...
Firstly I shall address my lack of updates, and thank all of you who have visited this blog and continued to visit, your support is appreciated greatly and although it may not seem like much it is really helpful to receive support from you all. I have currently purchased a new computer/laptop and I am spending quiet a lot of money right now to bring you the best that I can give you, I have so much planned right now and so much to keep track of that unfortunately the blog has suffered a little with my absence. Don't worry, the blog will return to its prior state after I have finished with the complicated work I am doing to get the blog and video`s up and running.
From my picture the eagle-eyed amongst you have probably noticed I have a new Minecraft skin. This is due to the old one being stranded on my previous laptop with no chance of return. I would like to note also that the background is not from any filming I am currently doing, I just liked the look of the Stronghold.
I should also address something which you have all probably being dying to here about, a Minecraft video. I am currently working on what will probably be a considerably long Minecraft project based off a film which I am very interested in - yet may differ from the plot substantially. (From which you can probably expect a short sneak peek by June - though it may be considerably rough) Along with this there is also a planned Minecraft Lets Play and Minecraft Adventure Series starting in the later half of this year.
Check list;
1. New computer/laptop - Check
2. Recording software - Trial only as of now - potentially full software in 1-2 months
3. Recording devices (E.g. Microphone) - Needed - arriving 1-2 months
What to look forward to;
1. Minecraft movie sneak peek - before June 1st
2. Minecraft lets play series - On hold until recording software and recording devices.
3. Minecraft Adventure series - On hold until recording software and recording devices.
4. More updates - Blog will be updated more regularly when I have finished sorted out the current Computer/Laptop situation
