The Nether is essentially Minecraft`s version of an underworld or ‘Hell’ as some players refer to ihttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gift. The Nether is a dark underground dimension with terrifying mobs that shoot fire and cause explosions. Along with the dangerous mobs there are lava flows, lava lakes and strange Nether fortresses.Trivia; to enter the Nether you need to light a Nether portal (Made from Obsidian) using flint and steel and travel through the portal which that creates.
